Fight shorts, also known as MMA shorts, are designed specifically for the rigors of no-gi ground fighting. We have a large selection of fight shorts to select from including your favorite brands like Venum, Clinch Gear, Throwdown and Hayabusa.
How are fight shorts different from other shorts? Well in a number of ways and sometimes different from maker to maker. But there are some features that are common among most fight shorts that make them what they are.
Freedom of movement: They may employ one or several technologies to achieve this requirement. But most common is a stretch material in the gusset running inside each leg through the groin. Split seams on the outside leg bottoms will further enhance this. Some shorts are built from 4-way stretch materials.
Secure fit: It may sound simple, but until hook and loop closures were first employed, it was not uncommon for board shorts to loosen during training when a string came untied. Modern MMA fight shorts use hook and loop closures in a variety of orientations but all seem to use it.
Fight shorts come in seemingly endless color combinations but they all serve the basic purposes of freedom of movement and staying in place.
